We’re having a lot of fun with pens and pencils, paints and play dough at the moment.

While the toddling stage brings it’s own challenges, the way we spend our days has got more interesting. Spike has shown a real zeal for creative pursuits, as I’m sure all young children do. Mr Spitting Yarn observed, and I’m sure he’s right, that we’re all creative to begin with. The challenge comes in keeping the channels open and not becoming inhibited.

Today was the first time we cracked open the poster paints in the house and I wish we’d done it earlier!

Spike

I taped a black bag to our table, took the tray off Spike’s high chair and clothed him in an old t-shirt of mine and squeezed the paints onto a thali tray. He had a great time and it was no trouble to clean up.

I’m looking forward to introducing him to glue next!
