Singapoor me
My DB has had to go to Singapore, as his grandmother is very ill. He’s away for 10 days, which is the longest we have been apart .
I received a call from DB before I left for work this morning, saying he was in a yarn shop and that he had bought me lots of Japanese pattern books and yarn! He really is the best! In fact, I had to reel him in a little, as he was determined to “make back his air fare” in bargains(!) I then suddenly had a panic that I wouldn’t be able to read the books and was much relieved to find this and this.
I’ve been getting plenty of knitting done with so much time on my own. I made a knitted bunny out of a square piece of knitting this weekend, but unfortunately it looks a bit deformed! I think it’s the ears. (DB is also purchasing a digital camera whilst in Singapore, so you should be able to see for yourself soon).
I’ve also been making progress on Wavy (I’m on my last ball of yarn), although I had to rip back to my lifeline, after knitting too late at night and bodging it up.
I’ve never knitted anything in the round and I think it’s about time I tried. I have some lovely yarn (Debbie Bliss’ cotton angora), which would make a lovely, soft and cool beanie. I had better search out a suitable pattern.
Anyway, Knitting Hill tonight, which should stop my wallowing in misery for a little while (assuming I get off work in time to make it).
