London Yarn Stores
Jump to Comments

I’ve had a few people from Knitting Hill and the blog ask whether I know of any yarn shops / stores in London, so I thought I would keep a page listing all the relevant information. I’ve deposited it over there in my sidebar.

If you know:

* of any LYSes in the London area that I haven’t covered;
* that a listed LYS is no longer in business (boo);
* any information about listed LYSes which I have not covered (e.g., stock information, opening hours, etc);

please do let me know, so I can keep the page up-to-date and comprehensive.

Also, if you have spotted any online reviews of any of the listed yarn shops it would be great if you could direct me to them. This includes reviews you may have written on your own blogs (although not posts about what you bought at particular yarn shops – I looked through my own posts, and that’s all I have!).

I hope you find the page useful!

  • does Top Shop still have Rowan?

    The fabric shop on Lordship Lane stocks quite a bit of yarn & they did a yarn stall at the last Dulwich fair. But that’s about all I know – when they first opened they didn’t have yarn and when we asked about it he was soooo rude to us I’ve not been back inside. From sneaking a look through the window its quite a large amount, tweedy, don’t know about fiber content.

    I think these are their details – Fabric, 205 Lordship Lane, (020) 8693 9295

  • Fantastic work on the listing London shops front, well done.

    It’s not exactly a review, but you are welcome to lift any of the pics from my report on my visit to Loop which are in this post:

  • OH Thank you!!!! I’ll be in London in January and I’ll be looking for yarn!!! Does Knitting Hill still meet? Maybe I’ll show up to knit a bit with you all! :-)

  • Oh even better – Creations on Church Road in Barnes – That’s where I’ll be staying while I’m there! :-)

  • Wow, thanks for this! I had no idea. Perfectly timed to coincide in my yarn-purchasing embargo, but good to know for emergencies. And needles.

  • With. Coincide with. And now emergencies looks wrong too, but it can’t be emergenceis, can it?
