New year – new me. Maybe.
Thank goodness for New Year, eh? As a Growed Up, I have missed the fresh start that is The Beginning of Term, particularly the beginning of the autumn term. This was an opportunity to up-grade your pencil case and handwriting pen, and argue with your Mum about the suitability of Doc Marten’s as school shoes.
I have to make do with the New Year now.
Actually, New Year for me doesn’t begin until 14 January. This is not some strange Pagan observance, but simply that, at the moment life is kind of ‘same ****, different year’. We have a big court deadline coming up on the 13 January and I am hoping upon hope that my working life will improve when the deadline has passed. When my working life improves, the rest of my life should follow suit.
The improvements of which I speak are as follows:
* Show my DB I love him in deeds as well as words more often;
* Regular attendance at the gym (that old New Year chesnut);
* Streamlining and organising finances (the debt is thankfully nearly gone. Now I just need to make sure I am doing the right thing with my hard-earned cash);
* Be more stoic about my work and not whinge so much (on the basis that wallowing isn’t going to get me any where);
* Make some effort to develop my writing, perhaps by attending a course run by the Arvon Foundation;
* Finish all my WIPs, unravel my OSW, start knitting my Christmas presents early, keep yarn purchases to a minimum, and use up some of my stash;
* Put work to one side on Monday evenings so I can attend Knitting Hill more often;
* Take time to see more of my family and friends; and…
* Post more regularly on my blog!
Happy New Year, everyone!

Good Luck with you “new me” endeavours. I definately need to follow suit with many of the aims you have! I suppose I should start now by stop reading blogs and go back to working on my assignment:(
