Secret Pal 5 – The Big Reveal!
I am a very lucky one. Over the past few months, I have had the fortune to be spoiled by Knit-TGZ of Knitting Through Life. She’s a clever and talented Portuguese girl (go check out her blog – I love her chic, multi-directional scarf).
My final parcel contained more of the beautiful merino yarn that I knitted my OSW with:
The colour is not quite right in the photo – it’s a little more mustardy in real life. I think I want to knit some mittens with it, perhaps with a contrast trim. The colour goes beautifully with navy.
I also got some beads and some great real pressed flower stickers which I had admired on a previous parcel. Thank you so much Knit-TGZ!
Speaking of beads, on my birthday I was sent a lovely handmade necklace by my good friend Pop. It looks so professional – I’m really impressed!
Pop has recently started a new blog called Tasty! which is her “taste diary” covering restaurants, food, etc. For a more London-centric food blog, take a look at my DB’s blog (in partnership with his friend) Food & Life.
My DB really surpassed himself on my birthday. With no prompting or pointers from me, he gave me these:
(I know it’s not Self-Portrait Tuesday but, hey).
Platinum and diamond earrings – aren’t they beautiful!
My flatmates, L & C, also got me a bunch of cool birthday things, but this one stood out:
It’s a notebook, but I love the “I was a teenage knitting addict” tag line (although why confine such addictions to teenagerdom?).
Not much knitting activity has been going on recently. I have been making progress on DB’s scarf – I’m about to start with the last balls of yarn.
Some knitting shopping has been happening, though. I have bought some Eucalan to wash DB’s scarf with when it’s done. I also bought some Addi Turbos from Get Knitted. I need to get started on some Christmas socks and I though Addis might ease me on my way. I’ll administer my judgment on these new (to me) products when I receive them.
Before I go, I should complete the SP5 circle. I have been spoiling Andrea over at Knit Stitches. My parcels seem to have gone down well, which is great. Andrea knits pretty things and has cute kids – you should check out her blog too!
