Versace
I made a monkey!
I have no idea what compelled me to make him. I was meeting DB and a friend on Thursday night last week and mysterious forces propelled me, en route, into Gap. I wandered around idly before spotting a pair of socks at which point I was struck that they would make a good sock monkey (an entirely reasonable thought).
Anyway, a bit of Googling later, and on Friday night after work I pulled out my sewing machine and set to it. I stuffed and hand-sewed on Saturday morning, and lo…
I think he needs a smile, don’t you?
Here is a rather undignified shot of the monkey up-ended, but look at its bum! Pink!

His eyes happen to be Versace buttons, so I think the name is apt. However, he is intended for a monkey-loving recipient who may want to call him something different.

Love it! I had never actually put two and two together to realize that sock monkeys are indeed made from actual socks.

I also had never quite realised that sock monkeys were, um, made of socks. A lightbulb moment if ever there was one. He’s a dude of a monkey.
